About Me.

Hi, this is Heewon! I am currently a senior student in the BFA Illustration program

at Parsons School of Design, where I am researching visual storytelling, primarily

focusing on children's books. I am also minoring in printmaking, exploring a wide

range of techniques from traditional printing methods to experimental production

processes, thereby expanding the materiality and expressive depth of the book as a medium.

At the heart of my work is creating a space where children can freely unleash their imagination, joyfully explore, and discover their own emotions and world. Carefully observing how the small moments and emotions that children encounter are connected and expanded is a key driving force behind my work. Furthermore, I hope that my warm and humorous illustration style will allow children to naturally immerse themselves in the world of the story. Soft colors, friendly characters, and scenes filled with subtle humor help children view even unfamiliar or difficult emotions in a light and comfortable way. I continue my work with the dream that my illustrations will serve as a medium to convey small comforts and laughter to children.
